Mark your calendars for the Greening of the Church, Saturday, November 28th beginning at 9:00 a.m. Church Life will provide light breakfast fare as well as coffee and juice. Please join us for a time of fellowship as we ready the church for Advent.
Day Camp at the Reformed Church of Syracuse runs from June 29 to July 2, 2015. Please consider offering your time and talents to this important annual event. We are especially in need of someone to coordinate daily recreation activities. Many children and youth from our community attend each year. You may email Geania Lasda, Director of Christian Education, to volunteer: firstname.lastname@example.org There is also a sign-up board in the church Narthex.
The annual S.W.E.A.T. for Habitat Bowl-a-Thon is coming up on Sunday, February 8th, 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Bowl Mor Lanes in East Syracuse, NY. Youth and adults are invited to bowl and help raise money for Syracuse Habitat for Humanity. There is a sign up sheet for bowlers and sponsors in the church Narthex. Sponsors are encouraged to sign up and donate generously. Our church members have in the past few years collected some of the largest donations for the event -- let's continue our good track record!
The Greening of the Church will take place on Saturday, November 29, beginning at 9:00 a.m. There are many jobs for people of all ages! Breakfast snacks will be served. Come help us prepare our church for Advent and the Christmas season.
Sunday, October 5, turned out to be a bright, cool, ideal day for walking, and six others joined me in representing the Reformed Church of Syracuse in the 35th Annual Downtown Walk. When all the pledges are turned in, we will have slightly over $1,000.
Overall, the entire Downtown Walk probably had one of the smallest groups of people I’ve ever seen, but they were cheerful and there was a good sense of community among us. Several of the participants had never been on the creek walk before, and that was a treat. Most certainly this is the last walk taking place downtown. We will be asked to join the Liverpool Walk at Long Branch next year.
Many thanks to Pastor Jim Harriff, Bonnie Carr, Nancy Conley, Madison Coutchure, Charles Hunter and Karen Sherwood, who took the time to walk with me, demonstrating in a tangible way their concern for the millions who are less fortunate than we are.
If you pledged to support one or more of the walkers, please turn in all monies to me as soon as possible. Checks should be made payable to CWS/CROP. If you sponsored more than one walker you need only write one check covering the total amount you pledged.

It is time to put our gardens to bed for the winter. If you can volunteer a couple of hours, please contact Chuck Kinne and he will gladly direct you to the areas that need to be cleaned out and/or mulched.
We are looking for volunteers to help keep the church grounds looking nice and neat. If you can help, please contact Chuck Kinne and he will gladly direct you to the areas that need some TLC. There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex; you can choose a time that's most convenient for you for getting some yard work done. Weeds are ready to be pulled and shrubs are ready for trimming. Let's make our church and the neighborhood beautiful.
